Held the first week of April 2025, the Trustees opened the Noble Park Public Hall for residents and past residents, school children, and senior citizens, to wander through the hall observing 75 History Boards on Noble Park.
Students from St Anthony's Primary School and Noble Park Primary School visited to observe the history boards and some of them were entertained by a local band, Burke and Beyond.
Later in the week those who visited the display were entertained by the U3A choir, singing popular songs to join in with.
The storyboards continued to evoke wonderful memories especially for those who had lived in Noble Park or attended events at the public hall. Some visitors donated more memorabilia to add to the collection held at the hall.
On the Saturday the trustees organised a Centenary Celebration, attended by The Mayor, some councillors, and Members of Parliament. Past students and their families from the Dawn Lois Dancing School who operated for 34 years in the hall held their own reunion in the morning, then joined the Centenary Celebrations in the afternoon.
One Voice choir entertained everyone with a medley of songs from the past century, as well as a specially written song for the occasion, “This Ol Hall”, to the tune of “This Ol House”.
Speeches were made by the Mayor, Cr Jim Memeti, The Chairman of the Trust, Alan Gordon and Trustee, Dawn Dickson. Copies of Dawn’s book “If these walls could talk” were handed out to all who came through the hall.
Visitors enjoyed refreshments provided by the Dingley branch of the CWA, and gourmet coffee from Thomas Out’s “Out and About” coffee cart. Master of Ceremonies, Graeme Marchant invited all to join in a hearty “Happy Birthday” and the cake was cut and distributed.
The hall has always been about the community and the celebrations showed that it is still the beating heart of Noble Park.
